Welcome!

Terrell Wilson Total Sports Fitness Foundation Inc was founded in 2007 due to the tragic loss of my son Terrell who died suddenly of an undetected aortic dissection of the heart.

My son Terrell was 14 years old and full of life. He was a freshman at Collins Hill High School in Suwanee, Georgia. He was an honor student throughout his educational journey. Terrell played on the 9th grade football team as an Offensive Lineman and was actively playing football since the 5th grade. Terrell had a real passion for the sport. He had planned to attend LSU to play football and become a doctor. That dream is no longer a reality.

The purpose of the Terrell Wilson Total Sports Fitness Foundation is to secure adequate physicals for our children who are interested in participating in any physical activities. We want our children to be Heart Healthy, physically fit and academically challenged in regards to receiving a higher education.

It is estimated that 350,000 people suddenly die from Cardiac arrest due to an undetected heart defect each year, half of them are children. The Georgia High School Association performs mandatory physicals before any athlete can be cleared to participate in his/her sport, but these physicals don’t include EKG’S The problem is that widespread testing for congenital heart defects by a school district isn’t economically feasible. It takes 15 minutes to perform an EKG or an Echocardiogram, and these 15 minutes can save the lives of hundreds of children each year.  Together we can prevent these tragic and unforeseeable deaths from occurring for other children just like Terrell.
